Novel Food Regulations 2021

All Golfer’s CBD products will be compliant with the Novel Food regulations that came into effect on 1st April 2021.

Established in 2019 and backed by one of the UK’s most trusted brands, we will continue to operate at the highest level of compliance, ensuring professional and amateur players are safe when using Golfer’s CBD products.

 

Here are some useful facts about the current CBD legislation:

  • On November 19, 2020, the European Union’s highest court, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU), ruled that CBD is not a narcotic drug, so prohibitions against the free movement of narcotics within the EU do not apply to THC-free CBD products.
  • Like all over-the-counter products that do not undergo full assessment by EU health authorities, it is not permitted to make any medical claims for such CBD products. This is why we provide only anecdotal evidence of our products’ effectiveness based on feedback from our customers.
  • Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is the illegal component of cannabis (marijuana), and many EU member states have set legal limits to THC content below 0.2%. Our products are THC-free, making them ideal for avoidance of THC storage and build up in the body over time.
  • Some European jurisdictions prohibit the use of CBD isolate for products for oral consumption. Our products are based on a broad-spectrum distillate, making them superior in effectiveness to isolates while also avoiding such restrictions.
